How can I do pager with db_query() ?
I have a complex query containing sub-queries using db_query().
I think extend('PagerDefault') can be called with db_select() only.

You can use placeholders in the join, but not for field names. Only actual values can be placeholders, not references to tables or columns.

currently I am using variable in join
eg:
$query->join('table1', 't1', "t1.field1 = {$field1}");

Is there way to use placeholder for $field1
